Salty. Crunchy. If you’re on #TeamSavoury then this is probably what you’re after. There’s something about this combo that we just can’t get enough of, so we’ve scoured the web to create a list that savoury dreams are made of!
For a crunchy swap out, there’s a lot of goodness to choose from – celery, radishes, sprouts. Meh. For some reason, they just don’t seem to have that appeal without their salty counterpart.

We were considering saving the best for last, but these Roasted Chickpeas have to top of our list of salty, crunchy. We all know you have a can in the back of your cupboard, and now it’s time to turn them into a healthy, savoury snack.
They’re also super filling from the fibre-filled chickpeas, which makes them a great snack to serve for a drinks party. Warning, totally addictive.
Sweet potato is a saviour for many paleo princesses and general health do-good’ers. Our favourite sweet spud has been transformed into a glorious, simple, cheesy snack with crunchy spiralizer baked sweet potato chips.
A healthier take on the classic crunchy favourite. This recipe has used red potatoes, but regular plain old potatoes will do just fine as well. Potatoes are a “white carb”, but as we’re all about balance and clean eating (they’re from the ground, you know!), we are just fine with including some potato here and there.
Okay we may have lost you at Brussel Sprouts, but this has been taste tested and they hit the spot! The key here is the use of nutritional yeast – a dried yeast that is actually extremely good for you, and strangely, has a nutty cheesy flavour. You can find it at Dischem stores or buy it online from Faithful to Nature. It seems strange, but give it a try and it may become your next favourite pantry staple – especially if you’re trying to limit dairy.
A list of salty, crunchy wouldn’t complete without some form of our old Nu Metro favourite. Keep the fake flavoured salt sprinkles and not-so-healthy vegetable oil for those occasional movie date nights, but swap out your home made pops for this delicious alternative. Simply upgrade on your oil and flavourings to transform your bowl into a fibre filled guilt-free treat.
